Tunnel Boring Machine Ground Deformation Monitoring

The Valley Line LRT will add 27 km of transit to Edmonton's public transit infrastructure when completed. The $1.8 billion project is being built in multiple stages [1]. The first phase of the project, Valley Line Southeast, is expected to open in 2020. The second phase of the project, Valley Line West, is currently in the early stages of procurement.

Partners Geocomp and Tetra Tech installed ShapeArray to monitor lateral deformation during a Tunnel Boring Machine's drive to create a new section of tunnel starting at the north portion of Edmonton's River Valley.
