Monitoring 3D shape has been Measurand’s core purpose since it was founded in 1993. Starting with patented fibre-optic bend and twist sensors, Measurand became a leader in the motion-capture industry, working in film and animation. In 2006, Measurand released the first ShapeArray, signalling the move from measuring the human body to measuring the earth. Now, Measurand has grown to over 70 employees and is a leader in developing and manufacturing instrumentation for geotechnical deformation monitoring.

Measurand is proud to be part of Orica Digital Solutions, under the product category Geosolutions, a global leader in geotechnical, geospatial and structural monitoring.

Geosolutions brings together six of the world’s leading monitoring brands—GroundProbeRST Instruments, Measurand, 3vGeomatics, Syscom Instruments, and NavStar.

We provide everything from sensors to services—a complete, end-to-end portfolio of solutions for our customers across the mining and civil infrastructure sectors.

As part of Orica Digital Solutions, the group is backed by a team with known expertise and global reach, grounded in Orica’s 150 years of experience.

MANUFACTURING YOUR SOLUTION

Short lead times
Measurand understands that geotechnical monitoring requirements can change with a moment’s notice. Measurand’s high-capacity manufacturing capabilities mean we’re ready if your site needs deformation monitoring sooner than later.

On-time delivery
On-time delivery is one of Measurand’s most important key performance indicators (KPIs). Clients can trust their ShapeArray order to arrive on site when they expect it.

High capacity, high quality

Measurand is never satisfied with the status quo. Ongoing capacity, efficiency, and safety projects mean Measurand continues to build our industry-leading instrumentation better, faster, and safer. All ShapeArray instruments and products are manufactured in our ISO 9001:2015 certified facility that targets up to 7500 ShapeArray segments passing through our quality assurance systems monthly.

Quality Policy

Measurand is committed to providing our clients with strategic shape monitoring products that contain industry-leading technology, manufactured to meet or exceed expectations, delivered on schedule, and expertly supported, to enable engineers and geoscientists to make informed decisions which lead to safer environments. Measurand is committed to the continual improvement of its internal and external processes based on stakeholder feedback in a direct and timely manner.
