Romaine-2
SECTOR: Dams & Levees
La Romaine, Quebec
Located in northern Quebec, the Romaine-2 dam is a 112 m high asphalt core rockfill structure [1]. As part of a $6.5 billion hydroelectric complex with four hydro-generating stations, construction of the Romaine-2 development began in 2009 [2].
A number of ShapeArrays are installed to monitor settlement in the upstream and downstream rockfill shoulders.
Overall construction on the Romaine Complex project is scheduled for 2020.
